As you can see, Janet, Heidi & i have all used the same House Warming Kits, but our books are totally different! That is so cool to see how we each add our own flair, style & meaning to OUR books. Just like our Homes..they are as different as ever. And your books will be different than ours. And that’s how it SHOULD be…embrace what is YOU. What makes YOUR House a HOMe.

As I talked about in my video, I printed this out on a regular office supply manilla folder. When I was in Photoshop, I used the quote brush to stamp in the window of my door so it was all on the same print out.

Inside cover & page 1:
I liked the roughness of the raw chipboard & just added some stickers. I wanted to start out our ‘house’ book with the beginning of us: Jeff & I. One of my favorite pictures of us was taken a couple of years ago by Tara Whitney! The clock has ‘Established in” & you can either go into the PDF & add a date OR you can print out & use your own handwriting, stamping, rubons, etc. I added a few rub ons & love the play & interaction of the acetate transparency with the photo. Makes me happy!

Page 2/3:
I added journaling of the beginning…my dedication to Jeff & being the best mother & wife I can be…my promise to build LOVe in our home. To me, my goal is to have a home: filled with love, warmth, texture & a little *sparkle* a little *magic*.
I printed out this Sunny Background onto fabric paper to give this feeling. Of course, this bird cage needed some *sparkle* & a few other little surprises.

Page 4/5:
As a Mother, it’s my job to create a world that feels like Home. I love this job. It’s my favorite thing ever. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it. On the opposite page of this, I wanted to create a ‘wall’ of frames with little *surprises* that mean something. the ‘i love you’, the ‘F’, the old fashioned silhouettes of a loving couple, a tree of happiness…and some more *sparkle* printed on acetate so you can see me, the mom & wife& through it all.

pages 6/7:
A simple journaling page that shares with my family how privileged I feel to be their mom. Opposite page is a library card (with their birth ‘due dates’ written down) filled with little manilla tags. Each one is for each child. I have a special message on each of them…I tell them what I see in them; what they teach me; & what I hope they will hold dear to them.

Pages 8/9:
This is one of those pages that i will fill up at a later date. I love decorating my home & these pages show a little of that. I had fun with my ‘home decor’ of these pages. The velvet flower’s middle is a journal sticker topped with some bling & a label. On the opposite page, I printed the Hof 3 settee on some fabric paper & created a textural rug with layered crepe paper ribbon & felt tape. I also used the ‘home’ from the free PDF & added a bling jewlel! Love that settee…if only I could find one just like that in real life!

Pages 8/9:
The feelings I had when I became a mother were ones I was not expecting. here, I journal a little about the deep love I have for my family; for the role I have as a mother.
I also realize that it’s not all ‘roses’…it’s a challenging, chaotic time in our house sometimes & I add some of those snippets on the frame.
I love the graph flourish PDF from the House Warming kit & embellished it with flowers, jewels & alphabets.

I printed the ‘something special’ PDF & added an old (one of my fave) Christmas cards to this page. I adore these little faces. On the opposite page, I have the window printed out on acetate transparency so you can see our family through it. Another one of my favorite pages from Tara Whitney. I love our expressions & our joy in this photo. As a family, we are working together to be our best & celebrate our triumphs, challenges & love. Each day is filled with crazy schedules, situations & as a family, if we forget it…it’s all in vain. So, these couple of pages are the apex of my book. It love it! Thank you, Tara, for capturing our family in a way i never thought possible; jumping for joy!

Pages 12-13:
our Children are my life. they make me so happy. I grabbed a few older photos of all of them…some of my faves. I added some little words to a song that help me remember the importance of teaching our children -daily. Seeing my children being kind to each other…that little kiss on the cheek..wow. it gets me all teary eyed. I love being a mom!

pages 14-15:
simple pages. but a lot of meaning.
I did a little equation of our kids: 2 girls = 1 boy makes our family! the opposite page is using that fabulous frame. I printed it out on the acetate so it would ‘frame’ something meaningful: this quote from my mother. I *love* it. She addes magic & sparkle to my life growing up & I think this quote is so wise. I hope to be able to remember the importance of the ‘feeling’ in our home. I added some *sparkle* on the frame to help me remember my mom! and the page quote is printed off on clear sticker paper & adhered to lined paper to get that layered feel. I love these pages!

Pages 16-17:
This is my ode to Domino Magazine. it’s been cancelled & one of my fave things about that magazine were the flag stickers. I just made a little collage of the ‘stickers’ that make a home: garden, entertainment, etc. then, ‘work hard…play hard’ is journaled. With everyday work & play, I made a note to myself (& our family) to remember to make everyday something special.

Pages 18-19:
One thing we love as a family is : nature/ the outdoors. I picture of our back deck & some flowers makes me happy!
On the opposite page I’ve added a little family ‘tradition’ on the chair PDF; ‘hot seat’. I typed some journaling, too & then printed it out on fabric paper. The ‘Hot Seat’ is a game we play when the kids are fighting or there’s some contention in our home! (I know, I know, you probably never have that happen in your home.) But, on occasion, we do. It goes like this: one of us sits on the ‘hot seat’ while everyone else in the family takes turns saying , “I love you because….” Sometimes, we have some complaining or growling….LOL, but usually we enjoy it! And, again, back to that quote about the ‘feeling in our home’…it really helps!

Some photos of my favorite spots in our home that make me happy: our stair well *painted a lovely color of green*, a wall of photos with a quote on it that helps us remember what we are doing in families; one of our kitchen chairs near a wall with another quote ‘be….’ & a spot on our mantle. I embellished these photos with some of the HOF3 Housewarming brushes & the HOF3 Design district font.

growing up, our home was the place where my friends always felt welcome. My mom was so good to my friends & they always felt comfortable in my home. As a mother in my own home, I want that same thing. I want my children & their friends to feel comfortable walking into our home; hence the photo of the feet.

Yes, it is 6×10…some parts are peeking out & so it’s a bit bigger, but the printable PDF ‘cut out’ lines are 6×10.
