This tool kit includes everything you need for that virtual inking; 4 black PNG files & 1 ABR brush file that has 26 various inked brushes that will add that inked look to your projects.
First, I’ll show you how to use the 12×12 Inked Overlays to create your own inked background.
**This tutorial is very similar to the Sanded Overlay Tutorial. Check that one out as well to learn more tips!**

1. Go to: FILE>OPEN> & find your Hof3 Inked Overlay. (You will see the black edges on the grey & white squares showing it’s a transparent file. PNG file.)

2. Go to: LAYER>NEW & make sure this Layer is UNDERNEATH the Inked Overlay by just dragging it underneath the Inked Overlay in your Layer Palette.

3. Select the color you want as your background in your Color Box. With your Paint Bucket Tool, click (pour) the color on the bottom layer.

Voila! You’ve just created your very own colored background with Inked edges!
Now, let’s change the color & look to see how to stretch the uses of this kit!

1. Follow steps above. When you come to the last step, go to your Layer Palette & select the Normal Light Mode Drop Down Menu Bar.

Scroll down to Overlay Mode. Select this.

This Light Mode will blend the black inked overlay to whatever color you have chosen. See the difference between the colored backgrounds?

If you want a more subtle, burned look you can go into your Layers Palette & adjust the Opacity Level.
With the 4 different Inked Overlays & the different ways to use each overlay..wow! What possibilities!
Remember, even though they come in 12×12 format, you can always re-size them to fit over digital elements, photos, Blog Couture, printables, etc. using the same techniques we learned here. And, when you use the brush tools, it opens a door to a whole other world!
Enjoy!
