This tool kit includes everything you need for that virtual sanding; 4 white PNG files & 1 ABR brush file that has 26 various distressed brushes that will add that sanded look to your projects.
In this Tutorial we’ll touch on how to use the 12×12 Sanded Overlays to create your own sanded background & on layouts. First, let’s look at making your own distressed, sanded background!

1. Go to: FILE>OPEN> & find your Hof3 Sanded Overlay. (Yes, at first it looks like you have a blank file, but upon further inspection, you will see that there are white edges on the grey & white squares showing it’s a transparent file. PNG file.)

2. Go to: LAYER>NEW & make sure this Layer is UNDERNEATH the Sanded Overlay by just dragging it underneath the Sanded Overlay in your Layer Palette.

3. Select the color you want as your background in your Color Box. With your Paint Bucket Tool, click (pour) the color on the bottom layer.

Voila! You’ve just created your very own colored background with sanded edges!

Now, let’s use it on pre-made papers for a layout.

1. Go to: FILE>OPEN & find your Hof3 Pre-made Album Page; Love Story.

2. Go to: FILE>OPEN> & find your photo & Hof3 Sanded Overlay.
3. With your Move Tool, drag & drop the photo onto the pre-made page. Then, drag & drop your Sanded Overlay directly over.

4. If you want a more subtle, worn look you can go into your Layers Palette & adjust the Opacity Level. Here, I’ve taken it down to 50%. You can see the difference on the edges, but isn’t that a super easy & fast way to get a cool look? Try it, you’ll love it!

With this Tool Kit, you can create so many different looks. Here, we’ve just touched on how to use the 4 white sanded overlays. Remember, even though they come in 12×12 format, you can always re-size them to fit over digital elements, photos, Blog Couture, printables, etc. And, when you use the brush tools, it opens a door to a whole other world!
Enjoy!
